A New Adventure Begins!

Flashback to 2007: the tiny guest room in my house was bursting at the seams with my papercrafting madness! I decided to search for a studio space, and a full-fledged store - Serendipity- was the result! Having a shop of my own was a dream come true and a grand adventure, but now it's time for the next part of the journey. Serendipity will be closing its doors on Main Street for the last time on Friday, January 29th. But now a new adventure begins! I have opened a booth at the Owensboro Antique Mall, and I'll be launching a new Etsy Shop in March!

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made Serendipity such a special place. My husband Randy, our Design Team: Michelle Mathey & Roni Ramsey, and of course all our wonderful customers! I hope you'll come along as I chronicle my new adventures on this blog!

Spectacular! Spectacular!

Vintage inspired papercrafts...those words alone are enough to make me swoon! But I am beside myself with glee to be a part of an amazing event called Spectacular! Spectacular! on October 23rd and 24th in Clarksville, TN. The event is being held at 125 Franklin Street in historic downtown Clarksville, the home of two of my favorite new stores: Hodgepodge and Artifacts.

The event kicks off Friday night at 5 pm with a vendor fair that includes workshops by Jenni Bowlin! Serendipity, along with Jenni and many other vendors will have booths featuring lots of vintage inspired crafty goodness!

Randy, Michelle, and I are teaching workshops at the event on Saturday. You can get all the details by clicking on the Spectacular website. Randy is teaching 2 silver soldering workshops, Michelle is offering a gorgeous collage on canvas class and a card class, and I am teaching the DREAM banner workshop and a Vagabond Vintage Junque Book!

Blog Hop Giveaway!

It's time for another blog hop and one last chance to win our new papercrafting kit! The kit has been a big hit, and we have tons of gorgeous samples in the store. The photo above is a chipboard banner I created using the kit, and some extras like chandelier crystals. A photo simply cannot convey the amazing sparkle of vintage glass glitter! It absolutely dazzles the eye! To make the "DREAM" letters, I used 2 inch Heidi Swapp Chipboard alphabet. Simply put a thin coat of adhesive on the letters, dip in glitter, shake off the excess and allow to dry. The letters dry very quickly. I used Glass Tac glitter glue (soon to be available for purchase at Serendipity!) but some other options are Tombow Mono Multi, Tsukineko Glue Pads, or Art Institute Glitter Glue.

Ranger Bliss!

Seven boxes of Ranger products sailed through the door Saturday! We have all the colors of the Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Distress Paints, & Distress Stickles!!! Including the fabulous Rock Candy Distress Paint and Rock Candy Distress Stickles!!

I know that's a lot of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But that's how much I love these new products! Rock Candy adds glitz to your projects in a whole new way. It's like sprinkling them with sanding sugar! The crackle paint dries in 10-15 minutes and cracks into a fine finish that reminds of vintage porcelain or very old oil paintings. It looks gorgeous on photos, vintage postcards, tags, flowers, die cuts, everything!
